BrewHaha support
Good beer. Great laughs. Practical help for your next brew on iPhone and iPad.
Getting started
Open Settings → Preferences and choose Guided for explanations of each brewing step. Standard offers brief reminders; Expert keeps explanations minimal. The brewing tools are the same in every mode.
Save a recipe from Discover, or create one in My Recipes. Review its ingredients, source instructions and brewing method before starting a batch. My Batches keeps brew sessions, fermentation readings and your finished beer's ha-ha rating together.
Community recipes
In Discover, switch to Community to browse recipes other brewers have shared. Save or brew one just like a published recipe. After you finish brewing it, you can share your ha-ha rating from the batch review.
To share your own recipe, open it in My Recipes and tap Share to community. Links aren't allowed in community recipes; if your recipe came from a published source, tap Remove links in the share sheet. Manage what you shared, blocked authors and your display name in Settings → Community.
Community rules
Share only recipes you created or have the right to share. Community recipes are for brewing beer, cider, mead or ginger beer: no distilling and nothing illegal. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content, including offensive, hateful, sexual or threatening material, harassment and spam. Report anything that breaks these rules from the recipe's menu; authors who break them can be blocked from sharing. When you share a recipe, you give other BrewHaha users permission to view, save, adapt and brew it. The developer may hide or remove any community recipe. Community recipes come from other brewers and are not checked by BrewHaha; review them before brewing.
Equipment profiles
Open Settings → Equipment profiles and create a profile. Choose your brewing method, then select generic equipment types and describe their shape, material and fitted features. Enter your actual vessel capacities in the profile. Review the starting estimates against your equipment manual and your own measurements. Fermenter capacity is its vessel size, while suggested batch volume leaves space for foam. Ordinary airlock and pressure fermentation have separate guidance.
Barcode scanning
Allow camera access when scanning an ingredient. Saved pantry barcodes match locally. Choose Look up product online to search Open Food Facts; not all brewing ingredients are in that community database. Review the result before saving, or enter an unknown product manually. Check camera permission in iOS Settings if the scanner is unavailable.
Backups
Use Settings → Backup and restore → Export backup to save a copy of your records. Keep an export before changing devices or deleting the app. Import adds new records and preserves existing matching recipes. Exported backups may contain your notes; keep them private.
Cost and accounts
All current BrewHaha brewing tools are free. No BrewHaha account or subscription is required, including for community recipes.
Contact support
Ask a question or report a problem on GitHub. Issues are public. Do not upload backups, private notes, phone numbers or other personal information. For a private request, first ask for a private contact channel without posting those details.
Include your app version from Settings, iPhone/iPad model, iOS version, the steps that caused the problem and what you expected to happen. Screenshots can help; remove private information first.
